Hello. I am a twenty-something designer, artist and maker from Seattle. In 2009 I packed up my collections, cats and Intern, and moved to San Francisco for grad school. Now I am a newly minted design MFA from California College of the Arts. I am available for design collaborations, picnics, dinner parties and freelance.
I've spent the last year of grad school exploring the environmental, cultural and economic impact of the devaluation of self-reliance. To learn more about my thesis check out these posts. My blog is a combination of my work, projects, and other little things that I find myself very wrapped up in. Content changes with my interests, but you can count on design projects, cat photos, cooking, occasional recipes, and lots of self-reliance experiments.

Other facts: I have two four cats and one Intern. The cats are called Sofia and Lucca. The other two are called Muuli and Neebu. Thats lemon and radish in hindi.
Did I mention my Intern? He cooks, he collects vinyl and typewriters and he reaches things on high shelves. We're in love. My intern specializes in color-pairings, wine-pairings, musical-pairings, shoe & sock pairings, cat-wrangling and other things. Intern writes a sometimes weekly feature called MPK music. (But MPK Music is currently on holiday, and who knows when it will be back!)

One more thing: A lot of people ask about the phrase "Mi Piace Kate". What is that? How do you say it? It is pronounced: Me pee-ah-chay Kate. In Italian, it means Kate is pleasing to me, or very simply, I like Kate.
