Happy Birthday today

Today is Intern's Birthday. We won't say how old he is on the internet, but I'll let you guess if you want. My Intern is great, and here are just a few of the reasons.

He is great at interning. Look at him. Interning all over our first move from Seattle to San Francisco together. Pants rolled up? check. Bare feet? check. Hands on hips? check check. You better believe he is monitoring those two teenage movers behind him who appeared out of nowhere to haul our stuff in crazy 100 degree weather last summer.

He is great at relaxing. I need lessons in this, and he is always more than happy to force me to put down my projects, and do some serious relaxing.

He is great friends with my mom. Seriously, they have jokes that only these two think are funny. Jokes using the word aloha. ugh. They crack each other up, and that makes me very happy, even if I don't find the jokes funny.

Intern takes meals are seriously as I do. He is taking FOOD NOTES in this photo. How Interny and great is that?

Intern has a great sister, who happens to be a bit of a genius, and she is incredibly funny and talented. This isn't Intern-Birthday related, but this girl just got some great news from Oxford University! Intern and his sister are great friends, and they are both a lot of fun to be around.

Intern is always willing to share his seat with a hungry greedy cat. It was slow going when they first met, but these two are good friends now, and Intern actually DREAMS ABOUT SOFIA at night. I imagine she dreams about him too.

One other great thing about my Intern? He is almost always willing, or at least reluctantly willing to pose for photos. Picnic basket on the front steps? check. Casual lean? check. Slightly annoyed look on his face as he squints into the sun? check. Doing it just because I asked him to? That is one great Intern.
