Secret Project number three

Hello Internet! It is Thursday, which means its time for another secret project. Allow me to introduce my intern! Some of you internet friends may already know his work... recipe-finding, onion chopping, interning, arranging, color-coordinating, photo-taking and hanging, assorted assistance tasks, handiwork and more... this incomplete list is just scratching the surface of his skill-set. All in all, he is one good intern. We're lucky to have him. No more gushing from me, I promise, on with the show!
Life Interest #3 Or: How I Learned to Stop Rushing and Love the Music In addition to being a full-time intern at Mi Piace Kate Design, I've managed to find some time to pursue my other three interests in life.
  1. Picnics.
  2. Naps.
  3. Listening to Analog Music.
Until I break out on my own, I'm going to use this blog entry to share a little bit about my life interest number 3: Listening to analog music. Listening to records can be a hassle. You can't transfer the music onto your iPod and take it with you on the go, or fast-forward or easily shuffle songs at the touch of a button. Instead you have to keep your records in a safe place, away from dust, and carefully place the cartridge and needle on the track grooves without damaging them. You have to level the turntable as best as you can for the best sound quality, and you have to get up to flip the record over when you want to hear the songs on the other side.
But listening to music on two-channel vinyl playback is kind of amazing. Not only does it sound much better, but it is a more intimate listening experience that allows me to relax and slow down during the day. Just like Butterfly of The Digable Planets said,
"Butterfly searchin for a relax Pullin from the jazz stacks cause it's Sunday"
So here, I'd like to share with you my latest Sunday morning vinyl listening stack:
  1. Black Feather Wishes Rise - Bright Black Morning Light
  2. Soixante Trois - Tinariwen
  3. Dedicated - Digable Planets
  4. Niobe - Caribou
  5. Just For The Night - Black Moth Super Rainbow
  6. Real Eyes - Quasimoto
  7. Spinning For Spoonie - Neil Halstead
  8. Summertime Clothes - Animal Collective
  9. Octect - Deerhunter
Enjoy.
